Innovation
The owners of ExPrT, Russ DuQuaine and Scott Siebenlist, believe it is important to commit to innovation… even in hard times.
“Our company is built upon a solid foundation of experience. When it gets down to it, hard times challenge us to become more creative with less. We see this as an opportunity for innovation,” says Siebenlist. “This is why we are committed to keeping up with the latest technology for our website. The new ExPrT website provides links to our blog, easy access to our display supplies, product videos, and an online portfolio of our work.”

Social Media Drives ExPrT Success
ExPrT attributes part of their online success to the web developers at KD Interactive because of their outstanding SEO technology.
According to DuQuaine, “We pay attention to the latest developments in online marketing because it is so clearly linked to our industry. Beyond our website and company blog, we have a presence on a variety of social media sites like: ExhibitFiles, LinkedIn, Twitter, SohoBizTube, Facebook, Green Museums, and TSNN. We even started a LinkedIn Group called “Greener Tradeshows” to share information and stay on the cutting edge of industry trends.”
We have been featured on sites like the Trade Show News Network and The Green Familia.

Green Tips for Event Organizers
Posted by: | CommentsEvent organizers have the ability to determine the context and culture of the event they are planning. Start your marketing efforts using green materials and commit to staying green. Sometimes the best thing we can do is offer less – by offering less, we all consume less.
Green Show Standards
Maintaining green standards for all exhibitors is essential as well as providing resources to make going green easier. Simple things like changing to organic food suppliers, banning plastic water bottles, offering recycling bins throughout the venue, and following up to make sure that the recycling products are properly sorted are minimum expectations. Additional offerings could include alternative energy to power the show.
Live Up to Visitor Expectations
Visitors to green trade shows are possibly some of the most earth-conscious people on the planet. So, greenwashing will be called out, and sustainable exhibiting practices will be respected.
Visitors will look for easy access to recycling, alternative options for food and water, and feel comfortable talking with exhibitors about how they are incorporating green exhibiting practices in their exhibit.
Practice the 3 R’s of Green Events
Rentals, Recycled Products and Re-usable Products are the three R’s of trade show exhibiting. Renting local exhibit structures can help save on high energy freight costs. Look for recycled products for displays. Some things don’t appear to be greener materials. For example, you may be surprised to see how amazing fabric made of recycled plastic can look. Choose quality products that can give you years of use with the ability to recycle components at the end of their use.
Green Event Suppliers
Most professional exhibit companies are savvy to green options by now. Internet groups like the LinkedIn Group “Greener Tradeshows” are a great source for free information. And, of course, ExPrT is on the cutting edge of green event products, give us a call 1-800-544-4492.
What is a green trade show?
Posted by: | CommentsGreen trade shows fall into three different categories:
1. Trade shows for vendors selling green products.
2. Trade shows produced with a substantial effort to reduce the carbon footprint, with sustainability in mind.
3. Virtual trade shows.
There are many new businesses entering the green economy these days. Trade shows are the traditional place to introduce new products. There are trade shows exclusively for green products. And, most trade shows offer a green section of the show specifically for the businesses offering eco-friendly or sustainable products.
The trade show industry as a whole is working to clean up its act by encouraging sustainable business practices, reducing waste, and encouraging new ways to network at the show so that people get the most out of face to face marketing. Green strategies include everything from recycling bins and paper cups, eliminating bottled water, alternative power sources, and reducing paper waste at the show.
Companies are encouraged to use light-weight trade show displays to reduce the energy costs of shipping and handling.
Virtual tradeshows offer an economical alternative to the “in person” shows. They are a greener alternative because people reduce the carbon footprint by eliminating travel and shipping costs. Virtual tradeshows offer conferences and panels just like “in person” shows with an added benefit of taping the sessions for later viewing. Virtual trade shows are a great alternative to traditional shows especially when people want to maintain brand recognition and keep up a presence in their industry. There are limitations to virtual shows, however, because you lose the physical connection to the products, which can be an issue, especially when introducing new products.
At some point green trade shows will not be a novelty. The goal is to participate in trade shows using sustainable business practices. Trade shows will continue to evolve as people in business engage in the age-old ritual of bringing products to market.
ExPrT offers a full line of green trade show products, including greener displays, trade show signs, and banners. Give us a call today for more information: 1-800-566-4492
