ExPrT- Exhibit Fabricators for Diamond Nexus Labs

Diamond Nexus Labs, the creators of the 2009 Miss USA crown, chose ExPrT to create a fantastic display to showcase the crown at this spring’s Miss USA pageant in Las Vegas.  The owner of Diamond Nexus Labs, Gary LaCourt wanted an “upscale” display to feature the crown as well as the flexibility of being able to re-use the display for other events in the future.

The custom display cases were faced with a mahogany laminate and then wrapped with graphics.  This allows the flexibility of using the wood-grained cases for a high-end look, or adding new graphic wraps to tie into future marketing campaigns.  The  ExpoSpaceSaver backwall hybrid display is portable and can be used separately for smaller shows and conferences. The backwall display features an aluminum support structure and graphics that can be changed to update the display.

Expert Exhibits or ExPrT Exhibits?

Posted by: Mary | Comments (0)

Today I had a client tell me it was difficult to find us because of the unusual spelling of our name.  So, I figured I should provide the story of how our name came to be…

ExPrT was originally an acronym for Exhibit Production Technologies.  ExPrT is a registered trade mark for our company.  We also like it because the prefix “Ex” is often used in the Exposition industry:  Expo, Exposition, Exhibit, Exhibition, Exhibitor, Expo Booth, ExpoDisplays, Expolinc, Expert, Experiential Exhibits, Expand, Exhibit Design, Exhibit Management… and the list goes on.  Then, there are the words with “ex” in them like Bioflex, Flex Displays, DiamondFlex and of course the X-board.  It sounds like “Ex” marks the spot in the exhibit industry!

After a time, we found that our name seemed a bit ambiguous… what are exhibit production technologies?  So, we simplified our name to ExPrT Exhibits, Graphics & Signs to more clearly describe what we do.

Some people frown on “self-proclaimed” experts.  But, our definition of an expert is one who has achieved a level of mastery in a particular area. In today’s world we need to be flexible and know a lot about many different things. Still, in order to get things done, it helps to focus in specific areas – to specialize. This specialization leads to particular experiences and a continual life-long learning that at some point leads to expertise.

Experts are also professionals who know how to help make your life easier.  Plus, they know how to follow through and get things done on time with high quality results.

An expert, to me, is also someone on the “cutting edge” of a field, open to new ideas and ready to learn more so that others can rely on their knowledge in a particular area.

The truth is, we are proud of our expertise in the exhibit industry.  Our name shows our confidence in our ability and challenges us to strive for excellence every day.

Innovation
The owners of ExPrT, Russ DuQuaine and Scott Siebenlist, believe it is important to commit to innovation… even in hard times.
“Our company is built upon a solid foundation of experience. When it gets down to it, hard times challenge us to become more creative with less. We see this as an opportunity for innovation,” says Siebenlist. “This is why we are committed to keeping up with the latest technology for our website. The new ExPrT website provides links to our blog, easy access to our display supplies, product videos, and an online portfolio of our work.”

Free Popup Display Rentals
ExPrT is celebrating the launch with a promotion for Free Popup Display Rentals.
“Our new Free Popup Display Rentals include the use of our 8′curved Expolinc popup display hardware for one week.  The client simply pays for the mural graphic and shipping.  It is a great way to go green by re-using display hardware, and our clients save money in the process. Offer is limited to availability. Additional details are listed on the ExPrT website,” says Siebenlist.

Social Media Drives ExPrT Success
ExPrT attributes part of their online success to the web developers at KD Interactive because of their outstanding SEO technology.
According to DuQuaine, “We pay attention to the latest developments in online marketing because it is so clearly linked to our industry. Beyond our website and company blog, we have a presence on a variety of social media sites like: ExhibitFiles, LinkedIn, Twitter, SohoBizTube, Facebook, Green Museums, and TSNN.  We even started a LinkedIn Group called “Greener Tradeshows” to share information and stay on the cutting edge of industry trends.”

We have been featured on sites like the Trade Show News Network and The Green Familia.

Poised to Expand in 2009
“2009 is shaping up to be a year of expansion as we get ready to launch a new traveling exhibit for children’s museums, showcase new eco-friendly exhibit choices, and increase our online presence in the portable trade show industry.  The ExPrT website will be a vehicle of communication as we launch new initiatives throughout the year,” says DuQuaine.

ExPrT Eco-Smart Displays offer greener trade show options including biodegradable graphic substrates, recycled and recyclable materials, exhibit rentals, and refurbishing used displays.  We also have a recycling program for your used exhibit materials that are past their prime.

Now in our thirteenth year of business, the talent and experience at ExPrT will work for the benefit of your company’s exhibiting needs.

It is an exciting time in the world of children’s museums. Oftentimes popular exhibits become local attractions adding cultural value to the community. Children’s museums are also popular tourist destinations.

For example, our family makes it a point to visit the City Museum in St. Louis whenever we are in town. It is one of our favorite family destinations where we get to explore the interactive exhibits together.

At ExPrT we view an exhibit from a child’s perspective. We also consider the comfort of the parents and caregivers who attend children’s museums with their kids.

Considerations like durability and safety are especially important for any design. And, of course, a hallmark of children’s museums is to invite fun into learning experiences.

We often work on interactive exhibit projects with museum exhibit directors. First, they bring new exhibit ideas to us for fabrication. Then, we enjoy working on the creative process together, discovering how to make particular components work, and eventually making children’s exhibits come to life.

Today, social media is transforming the museum connection and carries the relationship into everyday life. An excellent example of this is the blog at the Austin Children’s Museum. We are happy to be a part of the growth and development of children’s museums across the nation.
